What do YeBoneers do?

• YeBoneers on the YearBeyond Libraries Programme serve as either Reading Champions or ICT Champions
• Reading Champions facilitate interactive shared reading sessions for children.
• ICT Champions provide computer assistance to library users and staff and conduct basic computer skills training for community members.
• Reading Champions and ICT Champions also create educational, library-based exhibitions, do community outreach initiatives, and support library staff with general day-to-day operations.

You can apply for the YearBeyond Libraries Programme if:

• You are between 18-25 years old
• You live near one of the libraries where the programme is implemented. This year, Kleinmond Library will also be part of this programme. The Overstrand YeBoneers will therefore be working in Hawston, Hermanus, Mt Pleasant (which include the community of Zwelihle), Stanford, Gansbaai, Buffeljagsbaai, Exuloxweni, Kleinmond and Betty’s Bay.
